Sequitur Labs expanded its board of directors with the addition of Richard House, a former executive with Cisco and NXP to help scale operations and take advantage of the rapidly growing opportunity for securing embedded and IoT systems.
Richard House has 20 years of senior executive experience in technology and engineering development and has run P&Ls over $100M in revenue. House has expertise in bringing new technologies to market, developing new market adjacencies, and creating innovative ways of doing business through development partnerships and joint ventures. Most recently, House served as Vice President of Global Software and Systems Development at NXP Semiconductor’s Digital Networking Group where he is focused on transforming traditional semiconductor software.
Previously, House was Senior Director of Cisco’s fast-growing “Internet of Things” Group, an internal startup within Cisco focused on connecting all devices, sensors, machines, and other “things” to help industries achieve dramatic productivity improvements and drive new business models. House also led large multidisciplinary global engineering teams for Cisco’s multibillion-dollar access switching business and led an internal startup within Cisco that focused on service provider business for metro Ethernet access. There, he delivered highly scalable software and hardware solutions, running a P&L that grew annual revenues from $70M to $250M+ in a four-year timespan.
Prior to Cisco, House was a founding engineer at NetSpeed Inc., a startup company focused on broadband internet access. His efforts resulted in significant customer wins, and House helped sell NetSpeed to Cisco for $236M in March 1998.
Richard earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from The University of Alabama, where he graduated with top honors.
“Richard’s experience in building $100+ million business units is exactly the kind the of experience Sequitur needs right now and we are very excited to have him come on board,” said Philip Attfield, CEO of Sequitur Labs.
“Sequitur has done some incredibly groundbreaking work in simplifying complex security tasks. It is the right solution at the right time to help OEMs create secure and trusted products,” said Richard House.
